We would like to take this time to give you our thoughts of Premier Log Homes and the people who represent the company.
We are not log home experts but had thought seriously about building a log home for about 4 years prior to meeting Steve at the Chantilly, Va. Log Home Show. In that 4 year period we had spoken with several different log home dealers, traveled to various locations to look at the different products offered and even taken place in a full day seminar on how to build a log home and how all the various components work together. We also spent time researching the different company products and how we felt they would fit our needs and budget.

We were very unpleasantly surprised during this time period to find out just how uninterested the different log home dealers were in talking with us and spending time to address our concerns and issues. On the one hand, they were all very eager to say, "This is the type of home you need to plan for at least two years in advance," but when we told them we were two to three years away from building they suddenly lost interest. We were very frustrated with a situation where we believed we were the customer and no one wanted to take time to earn our business.
Then we met Steve Carter at the Chantilly Log Home Show and he actually took time to talk to us and tried to answer any questions we had as well as invited us to sit in on one of his seminars, that day, or to come and visit him at the main office in Ringgold, GA. He wasn't as concerned as to when we were going to build but that he answered any concerns we may have in choosing any log home. One of the things that impressed us the most is when he told us all of the companies that had a display there, that day, were very good or they would not be there and we should feel comfortable choosing any of them and, while he would be very happy to sell us a package, we needed to look around and feel comfortable with the company and product we chose. How many salesman have you heard give you that advice?
After careful consideration, and a trip to Ringgold, GA to visit the model, factory and the staff who would be working with us, we very excitedly decided to go with Premier. During our trip to Ringgold we had the opportunity to meet Dave Heflin (Lead Designer/Project Manager) and actually sit down with him and go over some of our priorities and concerns. Dave seemed very knowledgeable and more than willing to work to meet our needs and desires. At that point we had no idea what a key role Dave and Premier would play in the whole process of building our house.
We could go on and on about the expert assistance we received from Dave, which started that day we met him in Ringgold and continued through the day we moved in our house, and we believe still continues 5 months later. Dave was there to answer our questions, and those of the contractor, and helped us to work through enough drafts until we were at a point that we were comfortable and happy with the end product. While we are sure we drove him crazy at times, Dave was always very courteous and more than helpful. He was willing to listen to what we wanted and when he believed it would not work he was willing to step-up and tell us he did not think we would be happy with the outcome or that structurally it was not a wise decision. We believe because of Dave's patience, recommendations, professionalism and support we ended up with the home we wanted.
Premier Log Homes has what we believe is one of the best log home products in the industry and we have been nothing but pleased with the whole process. It was very comforting to actually work with a company who made good on all their promises and when we had a problem they were always there to help us. We are very proud of the home that we built through Premier Log Homes and the quality of the materials was excellent.
While we are still working on finishing touches to complete our log home we will continue to forward some photos and would welcome a visit from you any time you are in our area. Again thank you both so much and all the staff of Premier for everything you have done for us while helping us through one of the most important projects we have ever encountered.
